What is matt schlapp?

Matt Schlapp is an American political activist and commentator. He is the chairman of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).

Schlapp served as White House Deputy Assistant to President George W. Bush and as Political Director for his 2000 presidential campaign. After leaving the Bush administration, he co-founded the lobbying firm Covenant Strategies, along with his wife, Mercedes Schlapp.

In 2014, Schlapp became the chairman of the American Conservative Union (ACU), which organizes CPAC. He is known for his strong support of the Republican Party and conservative causes.

In January 2023, a Republican campaign worker accused Schlapp of sexual battery. Schlapp has denied the allegations, and the lawsuit is ongoing.
